In vitro studies

The cells appeared and grew normally at all concentrations of GS-441524, and failed to take up the fluorescent dye CellTox Green within 24 hours. Therefore, the cytotoxic concentration -50% (CC50) is greater than 100μM. The effective concentration of GS-441524 -50% (EC50) is calculated to be 0.78μM.

In vivo research

All 10 treated cats responded quickly to the treatment, and lymphocyte levels and rectal temperature returned to pre-infection levels and two asymptomatic cats. Of the 10 cats treated, 16-116 (group A) and 16-127 (group B) developed recurrent disease 4 and 6 weeks after treatment. The two cats received a second treatment for two weeks, and their response was the same as the first treatment. So far, all 10 cats that have received one or two treatments have remained normal (more than 8 months after infection). Within 10 seconds after administration, some cats' injections cause a short "stinging" reaction. Local and transient pain manifests as unusual posture, licking at the injection site, and/or vocalization lasting approximately 30-60 seconds after injection. Compared with other animals, the injection reaction is more obvious in some animals, and the reaction from one injection to another is inconsistent and weakens over time.
